Let me preface my review with this disclaimer: I don't eat seafood.
What in the word is a beef-eating machine like myself doing in a fine dining seafood restaurant? Well, I am surrounded by seafood lovers, and they all rave about the high quality of fish, lobster, and crab.
What I can tell you is their prime meatballs are delicious appetizers and their house salad (baby spinach based with balsamic vinegar glaze) was delicious as well! I had the chicken stroganoff, and the chicken breast was... well, chicken, but the mashed potatoes it came was with great. Get the mashed potatoes as a side. You won't regret it.
What I liked the most is the beautiful dining room upstairs. I was mesmerized by the big windows and bright natural sunlight. Everyone I've taken here loved the restaurant and really enjoyed the food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bella N.San Francisco, CA03934Feb 28, 2024
Really loved this location! We were super sad when the one in San Diego closed down, but we're glad this one is in Dallas. Food is amazing as always, everything was fresh and delicious. Loved that they have a couple of mocktail options on the menu. Host could be friendlier but our server made up for it. Overall great vibe for the dining area. The floor to ceiling windows made for a great view.
It was a great bonus there is ton of parking specifically for the restaurant.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4963891089Feb 16, 2024Updated review
Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Cakes, Bruschetta, Lobster Bisque, Filet, Chocolate Cake
Love this place! We had our dinner in the same private room as our last visit. Shrimp Cocktail was massive, Crab cakes were excellent. Lobster Bisque had huge chunks of soft Lobster in it. Filet was great. Obsessed with the bread here--so buttery and warm and wonderful. Chocolate cake was decent, a little too sweet for me. Excellent service. Entire parking lot is valet, but there is free 2 hour street parking a block or so over.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 27, 2023Previous reviewJumbo Lump Crab Cake, Tomato & Olive Bruschetta, Prime Meatball, Lobster Bisque, Filet, Norwegian Salmon, Miso Glazed Sea Bass, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Malt Cake
This was such a fun meal of so many different courses! The bruschetta was awesome, the crab cakes a little small and slightly dry but still alright, meatballs tasty and hearty. The lobster Bisque and bread were such highlights--soo delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly, the salmon tender and moist. The sea bass that some people in our group ordered (not pictured) looked amazing. The carrot and chocolate cakes were fantastic! Service was excellent. Large, beautiful interior. - 214184269Apr 27, 2024
Had a great experience dining at this particular Truluck's location. Very elegant dining room perfect for large parties or more intimate one on one settings. I came in to celebrate with friends for a birthday and the service was exceptional from the signed bday card by the staff, the flaming desserts, down to the restaurant following up with us via a call post attendance to see how everything turned out. Seafood and steaks are the specialty's here so the menu features items such as jumbo crab cakes, scallops, and branzino dishes in addition to various cuts of steak like ribeye, NY strip, and filet mignon with prices ranging between $30-$70 depending on the entree. The sides like broccoli, asparagus, fries etc. are family style so portions are large enough where they can be shared between guests. They also provide a variety of cocktails which are priced around $16 as well as wines by the glass and bottle. After being a little indecisive initially about what I wanted to try the server provided a description of their option to mix and match half portions of various entrees which allows you to try multiple dishes you may be interested in. I decided to go with the miso glazed seabass and the New England sea scallops. Overall each dish was really good with the sea scallops being my favorite of the two, the scallops were cooked perfectly and the truffle mushroom risotto was excellent not too mushy or overdone. The seabass itself nicely cooked, flaky and great flavor my only complaint was that the crab fried rice tasted a little stale maybe it was fried a bit too long. But that aside given the overall experience regarding service in conjunction with food quality I would highly recommend dining at this location.

I've dined at the Truluck's in Southlake & I thoroughly enjoyed it but it doesn't have anything on the view that the Uptown Dallas location has! It's breathtaking!! We wrrr seated upstairs in the "Big Deal room" & we felt so exclusive! I treated my partner to Truluck's for his birthday. We ordered the crab cake, Caesar salad, two 8 oz filet mignons, mashed potatoes & I had the African lobster tail. As for drinks, I ordered two Voila's and it was delicious & the presentation was so cool! Everything was phenomenal! I do wish the crab cake was bigger only because it's soooo freaking good!
Our server ,Douglas, was the best!! He had a great personality and was extremely knowledgable about the menu!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Viktoriya M.Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA1112260Apr 24, 2024
Really great experience. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. She forgot to put an order for our second appetizer, but admitted it and fixed it. We also got some bread on the house because the wait for our entrees took longer than expected. We didn't mind the wait, as the atmosphere was very nice, and we really enjoyed listening to the pianist singing, she was exceptional.

I'm in Dallas for the weekend for a surprise 60th and the restaurant we chose was Trulucks. The location was great because there was parking and of course valet. We reserved the Capri room for our party. Walking in I loved the ambiance. The restaurant is an upscale restaurant so everyone was dressed nicely.
The hostess came with the menu and as soon as I opened the menu it reminded me me of a scene from a movie because as soon as you open the cocktail or wine menu the menu had this light that was so bright (in a cool way) I have pictures to show.
Our drinks came and since this was a private event the menu was already fixed. All I can tell you is that the food was so rich in taste and flavor. The Lobster bisque soup was so rich. I tasted every crab meat in the soup. The appetizers were delicious as well. We had crab cakes, meat balls and something else that had shrimp in it.
The entree was delicious as well. You had the option of Filet, Chicken or Seabass. The Sea bass was okay to me. The Filet was soft juicy and delicious.
The side order of baked potatoes and crab fried rice was also delicious. I enjoyed the baked potatoes.
Dessert was either carrot cake or chocolate cake. They were both delicious.
Overall I would give this restaurant a 5/5. Excellent dishes and compliments to the CHEF!
FYI - Restroom was clean as well.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 14, 2024
Came Monday for my birthday and had a great tasty meal! We split lobster bisque and rolls for an appetizer. The rolls came with a ton and were tasty with the cheese on top! The soup was fantastic I like how they pour it out in front of you so you can see all the lobster in it before. I got the tru love cocktail and the Voila both of which were great! I did like the tru love a bit more flavor wise. My boyfriend got the Smoke in the garden that he enjoyed! For dinner I got the petit miso glazed sea bass! It was the perfect size for me, so tender and tasted amazing with the rice! My boyfriend ordered the sesame seared tuna which was also awesome. Service was great the waiter was incredibly attentive. They placed little stars on the table which I believe signified it was a birthday so every worker that came by wished me happy birthday! Beautiful views of the city with nice ambiance inside. I'd love to come back and sit in the bar area for happy hour! The only downside was the bathroom for the upstairs dinning room was downstairs which was a bit inconvenient. As others have mentioned we got a free baked Alaska for my birthday!
They have free valet and a large parking lot so parking was a breezeHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 9, 2023
Very elegant! Obviously fine dining! Gorgeous inside and out. First and second floor seating. Wonderful view of this part of Dallas. Literally everything you would expect on a seafood menu, but of course, at fine dining prices! Proper attire is required, tablecloth, environment!
Excellent service, as expected. We got the jumbo shrimp. The presentation was amazing, smoke coming up from the dry ice. Cocktail sauce had an excellent bite. The shrimp was huge.
We also ordered the Chilean Seabass, which came with broccoli. The Seabass portion was somewhat small for $44, it was excellently prepared with virgin olive, under it. Flavor was excellent. Extremely large portion of broccoli came with it, which was also well prepared, and tasted great!
It's been many years, since we were at Truluck's and they did not disappoint! If you enjoy fine dining seafood, at fine dining prices, with fine dining experience... This is your place!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - XuanHoa M.Phoenix, AZ01Apr 25, 2024
